Donor FAQs
At MOVE, we are dedicated to delivering meaningful, lasting change in the lives of the Veterans and families we serve. We assess our impact by monitoring key outcomes such as housing stability, income growth, participation in case management, access to health services, and progress on individualized goals. Regular reviews of each Veteran’s Action Plan, along with tracking engagement in support services like therapy through Valor Harbor, help us ensure program effectiveness. We also gather resident feedback to guide continuous improvement. By combining measurable results with personal development, we provide Veterans with the tools they need to build a stable and dignified future.
75% of donations to MOVE goes directly to programs and services for our Veterans and their families.
The best way to donate is whatever works best for you! We offer four convenient ways to give, and you can find all the options and links on our Advocacy page.
Yes! Donations to MOVE are tax-deductible. MOVE is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization recognized by the IRS, meaning contributions made to support our mission are eligible for federal income tax deductions.

MOVE offers affordable, long-term supportive housing for Veterans and their families. Rent is $350 per month for single Veterans and $700 per month for Veteran families, with residents also responsible for their utilities. When two single Veterans share an apartment, MOVE manages the utility bills and divides the cost equally. For families, utilities remain in MOVE’s name for the first six months to provide stability, particularly for those with past-due utility balances, after which they are transferred into the family’s name. Our priority is to keep housing costs manageable so Veterans can focus on healing, growth, and long-term success.
There is no fixed time limit for a Veteran’s stay at MOVE. Each resident collaborates with a case manager to develop an Individualized Action Plan that outlines personal goals, including the long-term objective of transitioning to independent housing. As long as the Veteran remains actively engaged in the program and is working toward those goals, they are welcome to stay. We recognize that each journey is unique, and we’re committed to supporting Veterans at their own pace.
Yes, in certain situations. While our primary focus is on serving Veterans in our housing program, we may be able to offer limited assistance to non-residents when funding is available.
